Moods Both Silly And Carefree Although studénts at Westche ster had a busy schedule, there always seemed to be a little time left over for some fun. Be it during study hall, homeroom, lunch or weekend activities, you could always bet on being able to catch someone in the act of being himself. The parking lot and construction area provided plenty of “playground” for the very young in spirit. Dump trucks, fork lifts and many planks and boards provided many active moments for many people in many moods. The Snack Bar also drew many idle wanderers by providing alias RAE Het RE He music from a jukebox. There was always someone there, maybe dancing while no one was looking, singing, hum- ming of studying done the only way possible—to music. Winter and fall passed bringing the carefree, loving days of Spring. Along with them came the ever-frequent sight of surfboards just waiting for that 3:30 bell, and often not even until then. Now school is drawing to a close and the days of summer are rapidly approaching and the silly and carefree days of 1969-70 will be soon forgotten.

This Is Westchester Throughout the past year WHS has changed dras- tically. It has kept GROWING IN SIZE AND NUM- BER, expanding to 2,884 students. Although it’s such a large school, it still remains a PLACE FOR FUN, where one can come to fly a kite or put on skates and roll. Along with fun comes pride. Pride of one’s school, pride of its achievements and people. This year we have witnessed MANY MOMENTS OF PRIDE, beginning with our first cautious step through the arches. As we got used to WHS and its curricu- lum, we learned how to be ourselves. We have shown this through MOODS BOTH SILLY AND CAREFREE. On the preceding pages you may find THIS 1S WESTCHESTER. 17
