Bounce, Bounce, Bounce The success of the 1970 Varsity bas- ketball- team was due to. the efforts of twelve dedicated individuals under the guidance of Coach Randall Holloway. There were many exciting games as Wildcat crowds cheered for the five starters: Wil Terry, Tom Bailey, Loren Clay, Gary Trentham, and Mark Hall. When district arrived, the Cats beat Con- roe twice and split games with Spring Branch. Only state-ranked Memorial and city-ranked Spring Woods managed to get by the Fighting Wildcats. With poten- tial and drive, the team earned a solid phe BYES 22-10 season record. Senior Wil Terry was elected a co-captain by his ‘eammates. Tom Bailey (33), Paul Scott (10), Steve Horner (42), Gary Trentham (32), Wil Terry (11), Steve Wilson (Trainer).

Northeast Invitational Tourney The Cats traveled to San Antonio to place third in the Northeast Invitational Tournament. The contest of skill swung in Westchester’s favor from the start when they defeated San Antonio Mar- shall and San Antonio Edison to advance to semi-finals. The WHS dribblers lost to state-ranked San Antonio Highlands but in the competition for third place, WHS won over San Antonio MacArthur to ob- tain the crown. Fort Worth Optimist Tourney With their best foot forward, the West- chester basketball men were the “con- querors of the court” in playing Fort | Worth Carter and Western Hills.
