Baytown Sterling The 1969 season opened with a ready offense and a stalwart defense. The Wildcats ran over the Rangers of Baytown Sterling, scoring four touchdowns to their one. Dan Adams was the first to advance to the goal line with Frank Anderson following for the second touchdown from nine yards out. In the second half. Tom Specht and Rick Davis added two more touchdowns to the tally. Steve Barton successfully made the four PAT’s. The defense allowed the Rangers only 122 total net yards. Jim Frasure and Ed Cuttino gained recognition as the outstanding offen- sive and defensive players, respec- tively. PLAY OF THE WEEK: Larry Dorsey Victoria Stroman The Wildcats encountered Stroman victoriously with Dan Adams. attack- ing their defenses and scoring 18 points. Jeff Haas completed a six yard pass to Greg Smith for the final touchdown. Steve Barton kicked the only PAT. The staunch Westchester defense withheld Stroman’s passing attempts allowing them no passing yardage. Some outstanding players deserving recognition were offen- sive blocker Mike McCollum and de- fensive wingback Larry Dorsey. PLAY OF THE WEEK: Rick Davis bas Macrae: iiss Anal.
