Orchestra Competes In Buccaneer Day Festival The orchestra, under the direction of Mrs. Jo LeRue Todd, worked long and hard to bring musical fame to Westchester. They won many awards at the concert and sight-reading contests which they attended. The Orchestra joined the band in the Annual Spring Concert and their annual tour. They also provided the music for the school’s first musical pro- duction, “South Pacific.” The spring was high- lighted by their participation in nationa l com- petition at the Buccaneer Day Festival in Cor- pus Christi. “For he’s a jolly good cello ...’” Day Waddell and his good friend in orchestra. aye “You had better play or I'll turn you into a frog.” Mrs. Jo LuRue Todd instructs members during practice.

English Honor Society members listen excitedly to the program. English Honor Society Publishes Literary M agazine To belong to the English Honor Society, each member was first re- quired to show an aptitude and an interest in English. This organization strives to further literary interest in the school. Much time and effort went into the production of TER- ENCE and IBID, the literary magazine and anthology.
