7 3 “... And | play the cymbals with my knees!” Mike Post bears an array of instruments at the NAHB convention. Symphonic Band Performs At NAHB Convention The Symphonic Band is the top band. This band makes appearances at many important events in Houston. This year they played at the National Association of Home Builders Convention. They also performed in the Mall of Fountains and at the elementary schools. In the Spring, the band participated in their annual concert tour. ‘ “Has anybody seen Mr. Hammerle?’ Band students assemble to perform at the convention.

Orchestra Competes In Buccaneer Day Festival The orchestra, under the direction of Mrs. Jo LeRue Todd, worked long and hard to bring musical fame to Westchester. They won many awards at the concert and sight-reading contests which they attended. The Orchestra joined the band in the Annual Spring Concert and their annual tour. They also provided the music for the school’s first musical pro- duction, “South Pacific.” The spring was high- lighted by their participation in nationa l com- petition at the Buccaneer Day Festival in Cor- pus Christi. “For he’s a jolly good cello ...’” Day Waddell and his good friend in orchestra. aye “You had better play or I'll turn you into a frog.” Mrs. Jo LuRue Todd instructs members during practice.
