Marching Band Receives First Division In Marching Contest After performing an outstanding half- time show in the Astrodome, the band marched on to an exciting football sea- son. They ended the season by playing for the Thanksgiving Day Parade down- town. The year was highlighted by winning First Division in the U.I.L. March- ing Contest. Money was raised for the annual banquet through the sale of fruit- cakes and Christmas cards. Concert Band Members Polish Skills The Concert Band is comprised of the second half of the Marching Band. These musicians spend most of the year polish- ing old skills and learning new ones. Their year was highlighted by participa- tion in the annual Spring Concert. “1 know it’s there somewhere!” The brass section warms up for a long after- noon of practice.
