WINTER '60 OFFICERS, Doreen Takvorian, Marlene Webber, Judy Ostrow, Leslie Phillips, Bev Gorlin, and Marilyn McDonald relinquish their duties at the Girls' League Installation, BIue Horizons. WINTER GIRLS' LEAGUE CABINET Row A: Lynne Foster, Judy Ostrow, Leslie Phillips, Marlene Webber. Row B: Marilyn McDonald, Bev Gorlin, Doreen Takvorian, Linda Pearson. Girls' WINTER GIRLS' LEAGUE Girls' League has had one of their most tri- umphant semesters. Presiding over the fall ac- tivities was Leslie Phillips, who was ably assisted by her cabinet. The fall activities of Girls' League included a B-IO Orientation and the Spinsters' Hop, a gala dance where the girls asked the boys. Also included was the Hi Jinx, a spooky Halloween party. Bobbing for apples and an applesauce eating contest were among the many highlights of the evening. A good time was had by all. Good Grooming Week featured an assem- bly which showed proper care of hair, skin, and hands. Many girls found very helpful hints from this discussion. The welfare proiect which Girls' League chose was to collect toys for the ChiIdren's Hospital. The theme was Fill Santa's Sack The idea proved very successful and rewarding to all. League SUMMER GIRLS' LEAGUE The girls of Westchester have workea diligently to carry on a well planned Girls' League. Some ot the purposes of Girls' League are to promote friendship among the girls of the school, to uphold high standards for girls, to cultivate the ideals ot democratic living, responsibil- ity, and service, and to promote training in preparation for active, intelligent par- ticipation as adults in community life. The Summer Girls' League Cabinet planned many activities tor the spring semester. President Bev Gorlin was as- sisted by a capable cabinet in planning Girls' League activities, Some of these included the B-IO Orientation, which was planned tor all new girls, Girls' Week, a Spring dance: a welfare protect, and a Cotton Day.
