Girls League did a fine job on the Welfare Proiect. There were T60 beautifully wrapped pres- ents given to less fortunate children in a Hollywood hospital. C At an enioyable installation assembly Walt Baikowski was presented with a gavel, sym- bolic of his office as Boy's League President, by Ken Smith, the out-going President. Diddy Kearger officially takes office as Girl's League President as she is greeted by' Ruth Howard who preceded her in this po- sition. One of the main functions of the Boy's League is to promote better relationships among the boys of Westchester. Some of the activities we have sponsored were pep assemblies, the Balboa Bounce and Cotton Day, and Boys Week. Some of the members are: FIRST ROW: H. Colton, K. Smith, M. Pollock, Mr. Tanner, W. L Some of the members of the Leadership Class . Junior High has its own separate organization that operates independently from Senior Government. Highest offices were held by: lW'52l Joy Shallen- burger, President, James Johnson, Vice1President: Susan Wolcott, Secretary. CS'53l Jerry Calvert, President: Nancy Leverenz, Vice-President, Betty Munger, Secretary. The major work of the Junior High Cabinet during the fall semester of 1952 was the drawing up of a constitution for the Junior High Student Body. They completed this and passed it on to the House of Representatives for approval. The House for the spring semester of 1953 is working on the Constitution now. The Junior High Cabinet during the fall semester was also host to the student government of Emerso'n Junior High. Common problems were discussed and new ideas were gained by both groups. of Fall i952 are shown at one of their meetings. Seen are Doris Brown, Janet Rice, Peggy Barry, Nancy Murphy, Mr. Horner, Darlene Dobrechien, and Sonnie Narr. Corresponding to the Senate in Senior Govern- ment is the House of Representatives in Junior High: its members are elected in homeroom, and its func- tions are the same as Senate.
