Each one has given many years of dedicated ser- vice and caring. Our appreciation and love is much too great for words alone. Thank you Mr. Henry and Mrs. Webber Doris M. Webber was appointed to an elemen- tary teaching position in Westbury Schools in September 1954. She is a graduate of Mai verne High School and earned her bachelor's and master's degrees at New York University. The first was conferred in 1949 (B.S., Physical Education Hygiene), the second, in 1954 (M.A., Elementary Education). Since that time, she has pursued further study and qualified for certifica- tion as a Secondary School Principal and Super- visor of Secondary Education (1969) and as a School District Administrator (1977). A teacher from 1954 to 1967, Mrs. Webber then became Dean of Girls at Park School, an in- termediate school for grades five and six, a posi- tion in which she served until the spring of 1968. At that time (April 1968), she was appointed Dean of Girls at Westbury High School and became assistant principal at the senior high school in September 1968. Clark B. Henry became a member of the Westbury School System in September 1952, after two years of teaching in the public schools of Ellenville, New York. He taught industrial arts subjects there and was hired for similar respon- sibilities in Westbury. To these was added the task of instructor in driver education. Mr. Henry was educated in New York University, which awarded him the B.S. degree in industrial arts in 1950. Prior to that time, he had been employed by the New Haven Railroad and engag- ed in military service. Following his military ser- vice in World War II. he matriculated at N.Y.U. She was the 1975 recipient of the Award for Pro- fessional Achievement, presented annually by the Westbury Branch, National Association of 33 Negro Business and Professional Women. The 1981 Football season got off to a slow start due to the austerity cloud over the program. It looked like the team would not win a game or score a point after the first two non league games. The Homecoming game saw the Dragons come to life against Seaford scoring 42 points. The team finished in third place in Conference 3-B with a 3-2 record. Their over all record was 4-4, a great comeback. For their efforts: Lem Brabham was picked on the All County team, James Goode, Robert Kimble and Mark Hardy along with Lem were picked for All Conference. Junior quarterback Peter Zippel threw 10 touchdown passes. Eugene Grant and Elliot Mellis will be back to help next years team along with Ernie Motton and George Mingo. Westbury 0 G.N. I. Madison The 1981 crosscountry season proved to be one of the most successful in the past 10 years. For the first time, the Green and Gold Harriers were not holding up the rest of the teams in their Conference. The '81 season was different because of a well knit team, that believed in itself and had a strong desire to win. As a result they compiled a season record of 5 wins against 8 losses in dual meet competition. In the Conference Championship for the first time WHS scored a 6th place finish out of 15 teams entered.
