There is so much to an individual. Each character pos- sesses its own strength; only some bring it out while oth- ers keep it to themselves. It is rare to find a person who brings forth the beauty within him. Only through devo- tion and understanding can one share the ups and downs of our times. Virtue lies not only in the fulfillment of one's profession, but in the reaching out, the respect, and the compassion for one another. It is the development of a student-facul- ty relationship that creates the completeness of student life. There must be the total sacrifice of one's time, energy, and intellect. The superior man thinks of others, while the common man thinks only of himself. We have select- ed a faculty member who never expects absolute purity, absolute logic, and perfection. He views each student as a person rather than as a number. He was not born to rule but rather to advise and it is through his devotion and understanding that he gained the respect and trust of the student body. He has contributed to the growth and uni- ty of the school as well as to the community. It is for these qualities that we dedicate the 1972 edition of the Wing and Spur to you, Mr. Charles Russell.
