One-two-cha-cha-cha. I'll ask Gail if you ask Carolyn. The Junior Prom of 1970 centered around the signs of the heavens, transforming the high school lobby into a sparkling array of stars, moon, and zodiac symbols. Each person received his horoscope for the evening and danced to the spaced out music of the Electric Soul Chase. Towards the end of the night, the traditional ring cere- mony began. This year, the juniors had their choice of green or gold stones, buffed or faceted, plus one of two dragon signets inserted under the stone. Mr. Kulchin presented the first ring to the class president, Cheri DeBellis, followed by the other officers and anxious juniors. In spite of the variety offered, the meaning of the high school ring remains the same. It represents a bond formed by four years of learning and sharing at West- bury High School. It is a symbol of loyalty and a sign of growth and maturity. Our rings are worn with pride and will bring us many happy memories in the years to come. My girdle is killing me! 25
