The International Relnfionf Inn The International Relations Club, whose purpose is to keep its members posted on the news of the day, has had an abundance of material this year due to the war. Special reports have been given at the meetings on China, Netherlands East Indies, and Australia. At the first meeting this year, the Club elected Clayton Adams, presidentg Willard Sawyer, treasurer, and Anita Porell, business manager. The war has somewhat thwarted the plans of the Club to raise money. The usual cand bars have been cons icuous b their absence but, nothing daunted, Y P Y U the Club has substituted apples, cracker jacks, and peanuts to help fill up the treasury. The project undertaken this year by the Club has been to purchase more books for the school library. At the end of the year, the Club will have pur- chased a hundred books and a special bookcase for them, which will increase our library considerably. 7'1vz'nfy-figlzt

The Scholastic' Club The membership of Westbrook High School's Scholastic Club is made up of Sophomore college preparatory course students. The club's aims are both cultural and social. Its Weekly meetings touch on a Wide Variety of subjects. For instance, this year meetings have been devoted to reviewing current books, to enjoying recording of classical music, and to hearing an occasional speaker. A Club members enjoyed particularly the talk given by Yeoman 2nd Class Robert L.
