Morgan. 90 The Retailing Club is a group designed to acquaint more fully the students of this curriculum with various aspects of the retailing field. Programs sponsored by the group this year included a talk by President Blewett on his visit to Europe in relation to the European stores and modes in fashion. Previous to their Christmas work period a representative from John Robert Powers Modeling School briefed the girls on how to achieve a limited but successful wardrobe. The largest project for the club was their spring fashion show, or- ganized and directed by student members of the club. The final activity of the club was the annual retailing banquet held to award the seniors their charms and to announce the new club ofiicers. The club,s officers this year were Martha WVentworth, President, Donna Peter- son, Vice-President, Deborah Holt, Secretary-Treasurer, Assistant Secretary- Treasurer, Alice Haskell, Betty Gene Herring, Social Chairman. Vifestbrookis International Relations Club is a group which endeavors to in- crease student knowledge of foreign countries and their affairs. The group sponsors discussions about world situations and speakers from foreign countries. The objective of the group is to acquaint not only their own members but all students on campus with international affairs and thereby to awaken intelligent thought on world problems. Westb1'ook's dental hygiene society is a junior chapter of the American Dental Hygienists' Association and is open only to students in this curriculum. This year's speakers and programs have been held in conjunction with the Portland Dental Association. In October, 1963, the senior students profited from a never- to-be-forgotten trip to Atlantic City, where they attended the National Dental Convention. The group's advisor is Miss Linda Preston, and oilicers for the year were Ann Gallagher, President, Iane Baker, Vice-President, Ianice Osgood, Sec- retary, and Beverly Davidson, Treasurer. 91
