S. Thomas, S. Fletcher, S. Hyat, S. Drury. Fencing is a sport that demands constant training. Championship fencing, indeed, re- quires a discipline equal to that of the ballet. Westbrook's four-member fencing team has made a strong effort this year to live up to the high standards set by last year's team. They have met such competition as Wellesley Col- lege, Brandeis University, and Radcliffe Col- lege. The highlight of the season was the New England Intercollegiate Fencing Tourna- ment, which was held in March. A later match was scheduled with women fencers from Bates College. The Fencing Team owes much to the leadership of Mrs. Miller and to the enthusiastic encouragement given to it by Dr. Miller and Mr. joseph Demers. Westbrook fencers, both individually and as a team, invariably fare well even though they are often the only junior college students in competition.
