The Outing Club is one of the most active clubs on the Westbrook campus. The purpose of the club is to make off-campus sporting activity available to students. Activities vary with the seasons, beginning in the fall with trips to the VVhite Mountains. VVinter rolled around and with it came tobogganing and ski trips to Sunday River. In january the club sponsored a mixer, Ski Tracks in the gym. Everyone enjoyed dancing to the music of the Vectors from Bowdoin College. The climax of the season is the traditional lobster and clambake held on the beach at Proutis Neck. VVith the help of their advisor, Miss Nancy Gilman, the club experienced a very successful year. Officers were Betty Gene Herring, President, Sue Gillis, Vice- President, -Ioan Adams, Secretary, and Judy Carleton, Treasurer.

Under the direction of their coach, Mrs. Jean Miller, the team has daily practice sessions in preparation for various meets with such schools as Kents Hill, Deering High School, South Portland High School, and WaynHete School. Unfor- tunately, many fall matches were cancelled because of poor weather conditions. Those played were outstanding victories for Westbrook.
