J-3 'I'he fall of '61 found fifteen freshmen at Houghton Hall, eagerly looking forward to their first year of college. They immediately accepted the responsibilities of their co-op dorm, working closely with the sen- iors to achieve the spirit of friendliness and cooperation which is distinctively Houghton's. Orientation, in- itiation, and studies soon fell into place as they all adjusted to the Westbrook Way. The oiiicers elected to lead Houghton were Jennifer Robbins, presidentg Sandra Vaughn, vice-presidentg Evelyn Greene, secretary, and Susan Abbot, treasurer. The thirty-one freshmen girls of Goddard Hall started their year together by electing house oflicers. The president is Elizabeth Milburn, vice-president, Donna Roweg secretary, Carol Lothg treasurer, Ioan La- Hamme, social director, Sandra Beane, and student council representative, Mary jane Calder. September was a month of meeting new people and experiencing new aspects of life. The excitement of the Presidentls Reception and initiation, and later, Parents' Xveekend, Christmas VVeekend, and the many other fun-filled times will be long remembered.
