The thirty-one freshmen girls of Goddard Hall started their year together by electing house oflicers. The president is Elizabeth Milburn, vice-president, Donna Roweg secretary, Carol Lothg treasurer, Ioan La- Hamme, social director, Sandra Beane, and student council representative, Mary jane Calder. September was a month of meeting new people and experiencing new aspects of life. The excitement of the Presidentls Reception and initiation, and later, Parents' Xveekend, Christmas VVeekend, and the many other fun-filled times will be long remembered. In ensuing weeks, they participated in the Freshmen Talent Show, Parents' Weekend activities, the Day Hop Dance, food sale, Thanksgiving basket, 92 The Day Hops of the class of 1963 are a group of active, happy, and enthusiastic girls. From the opening W 4 and the Bruce Roberts Fund. All were successes due to the help of freshmen and seniors alike. In the early fall, an election meeting was held. Those freshmen elected to posts of honor are as follows: Bette Swett, vice-president and WAA representative5Margaret Werner, treasurer, Marilyn Stanley, Student Council representative, Priscilla Chase, alternate, and basketball inter-house captain, jane Donovan. They are proud of their group. There is a wide varie ty of personalities, talents, and interests, but together they are a cooperating group in the Westbrook Family. 3

J-3 'I'he fall of '61 found fifteen freshmen at Houghton Hall, eagerly looking forward to their first year of college. They immediately accepted the responsibilities of their co-op dorm, working closely with the sen- iors to achieve the spirit of friendliness and cooperation which is distinctively Houghton's. Orientation, in- itiation, and studies soon fell into place as they all adjusted to the Westbrook Way. The oiiicers elected to lead Houghton were Jennifer Robbins, presidentg Sandra Vaughn, vice-presidentg Evelyn Greene, secretary, and Susan Abbot, treasurer.
