The Modern Dance Club is one of the youngest clubs on campus, yet it still has provided the faculty and student body with delightful entertainment. They have appeared at two of Westbrook's chapel periods and performed in the musical production of The Boyfriend. They sponsored Eric Hawkins who came to Westbrook to give instructions to the Dance Club and later to give an ultra modern dance performance. The Modern Dance Club, advised by Miss Jean Gilmore, has Donna Anderson as president and Joan Couillard as secretary-treasurer. Under the experienced direction of Miss Joyce Moffatt the Masque and Candle Dramatic Club has been able to produce two excellent plays: The House of Bernada Alba and The Boyfriend. A series of three one act plays directed by the club members with help of their advisor proved to be a wonderful experience. Along with their successful production, they sponsored the Masque Ball in which they used the idea of providing masks for those who attended. Under the leadership of their president Adriene Cyr and secretary-treasurer Penny Marsaw, the Masque and Candle Club has become one of the most popular clubs on campus. l .sep ,tx ,, ES... The officers of the International Relations Club are Lynn Sutherland, president, Sharon Riggin, vice-president, Betsy Witham, secretory, Joan St. Peter, treasurer, and their advisor is Mr. William B. Jordan. This year the l.R.C. has planned many interesting meetings: in November they organized a rally and mock election, they sponsored many popular and enter- taining movies, and arranged for a series of Foreign Exchange Students to speak on their respective home lands. In addition to this, the l.R.C. devoted much of its time to making preparations for sending Care packages to underdeveloped countries. The profits and clothes gathered at the l.R.C. Dance were iust some of the contributions to Care. 74
