We backed it up with courage and it takes courage to overcome injuries, illnesses and real tough team. When the odds were against us, certain in- dividuals picked up where others left off. At times the whole team played brilliantly! Kevin Galvin performed courageously with a hand injury. The most promising players were Bob Pershall, halfbacks, Eckstein, Marchetti, and Carrubba. As a whole, the team was outstanding. vw W -Q' 1' YV! .U Q Q 4- X ... 4 , 4 v-X --xl - is me ,E 1. M

But, we maintained good effort all year and the team, as a whole, im- proved steadily throughout the season. n '. 'sr L, 0 Q v fn -Q xl s Q fwyy -:f ' K .sg I

Liv VARSITY y t -f D TRACK AND FIELD W. Hartleb, B. Britt, D. Lefler, C. Bouldin, D. Abney, E, Vasheresse J, Bushnell. J, Stolz S. Marinos J. Ocampo, R. Price T. Henkle Westborough's first year track team took to the cinders in March, challenging the top com- petitors in the field, Sporting a young and inexperienced team, the Wildcats proved their worth by rallying to each event regardless of experience level. Typical of Westborough's athletic character, the cindermen underwent a great change in physical and mental conditioning, This change builds a highly competitive individual, the kind much needed for track events. Along with the other sports at Westborough, the student body will always remember track as another first for our new school The Uaditions that have been built by this year's team are the foundations for future Westborough track men.
