IN THE SPO Everyone enjoys a turn in the spot- light, and the 1985 Junior Talent Show was no exception. The show was run by our four M.C. ' s, Doug Hanchett, Ed Hutner, Darrin Mac- Connell, and Todd Salmonson. Musical highlights of the evening i ncluded Irene Vail, Marianne Neil- sen, and the Westboro Blues, not to mention Joe Federman and the Evolution. At right, Erin Sullivan and Stacey Guagnini wait back- stage before their dance act ( Jun- gle Love ) with Penny Smith. As for comedy, both junior girls and guys provided plenty of that. Caro- lyn Breen (center right) does her imitation of our favorite chemistry teacher, in the junior girl ' s act What a Wonderful World. The junior guys, however, were led by Tom Schaefer in a chorus of What I Like About You , then proceeded to show us new mean- ings of the word shape-up. All in all, the talent show demonstrated the hidden talent of Westboro stu- dents. The M.C. ' s really get into the act!

Webster calls a circle a group of people sharing a common interest. It ' s easy to see how this definition applies to our school. We have all shared a common high school experience. However, there are differing elements which have made up this experience. These inner circles are all independent, vital groups and their actions create the pulse of our school. The first smaller circle is the faculty. You can see their circle on Monday mornings in the teacher ' s room. They sit happily eating doughnuts and talking of their latest game of Trivial Pursuit. Once the teachers leave this room, though, they involve themselves in other circles. The next circle is sports and activities. Whether we huddle in a football game or debate the question of nuclear war, we all become more aware of the world in which we live. The students make up the largest circle in the school. We have our friendship, our language, and our own style. We are a circle shaded by many individual colors. At eight o ' clock each weekday morning, these three circles join together to form the large circle, our school. We chose the circle to symbolize the unity of the school. We are individuals, but we are all striving for similar goals. In these ways, the circle seemed to best represent this unity.
