PEOPLE It seems to be the variety of people which makes Westboro High School interesting. If there weren ' t different types of people at WHS what would be left? A brick building with empty- headed zombies roaming the halls wearing their Levi jeans, t-shirts, and Nike sneakers. But seriously, laughs one senior, without freshmen crowding the halls, couples getting ' friendly ' on the balcony, school food thrown on the trays by the women with such pleasant smiles, Westboro High would be a boring place. The individuality of the students can especially be seen at social events such as the Junior Prom. On May 28, 1983, Westboro couples were seen dining at elegant restaurants such as Finally Michael ' s, Lizabeth ' s, and Bergson ' s 1790 House. Unbelievable as it seems, one unique couple, Garret Walker and Maureen Hensley, went to McDonald ' s. Fearing the risk of an unruly child throwing a french fry with ketchup on their evening clothes, they opted to go to the drive-thru win- dow. Since it was a special occasion, Garret offered to buy Maureen a Big Mac. Maureen, realizing that it was a night to be remembered, accepted his generous offer. Another night for students to show their peculiar talents was at the Class of 1984 ' s Talent Show. On that even- ing the audience was stunned to dis- cover the hidden talents of the most respected senior guys. John Burns, president of the class of ' 84 for two years, Steve Thibodeau, class treasur- er for two years and Boy ' s State re- presentative, Chris Anderson, star tennis player, along with Dean Ad- ams and Dave McKenney, who are all-around jocks, displayed their hid- den love for the ballet in their own version of Chauncy Lake. They seemed very serious, never cracking a smile, as they floated gracefully across the stage to Tchaikovsky ' s haunting tune. The only criticism re- ceived was not about the dancing, but the costumes. The only reason they didn ' t beat Kirk Merrow, explained one observant judge, is because their tutus weren ' t the exact disgusting shade of dirty, polluted green as Westboro ' s own Lake Chauncy. The senior class voted for the stu- dents who best fit the categories for senior superlatives. The actual votes were ignored by the yearbook staff; the honors were awarded to the high- est bidders. The highest bids came from Andrea Dunne and Steven Thi- bodeau (most spirited). The reason 2

they offered so much money was to get one more picture of themselves in the book. Rumors are that they pay off the photographers too. This is why they ' re in so many pictures. The highest bids came from Andrea Dunne and Steven Thibodeau (most spirited). The reason they offered so much money was to get one more pic- ture of themselves in the book. Ru- mors are that they pay off the photog- raphers too. This is why they ' re in so many pictures. Since the subject of pictures has come up, many photographers have complained how obnoxiously people behave when they see a camera. One junior girl, who wishes to remain anonymous, always tells photogra- phers Take my picture. My sister is the editor. So to shut her up, they take it. Freshmen are even more ridic- ulous with their behavior. Instead of remaining calm so that the photogra- pher can take a clear picture, they jump and twitch. This results in unu- sable pictures. So, all you freshmen out there, don ' t be mad if there are no pictures of you. It ' s your own fault. The wide spectrum of students at Westboro High School makes it a tru- ly interesting learning environ- ment. Surely everyone will remember their years at WHS as a unique ex- perience!
