The cumulation of a year ' s work by the editors and staff; the distribution of books and seeing ourselves in print — all this certainly is memorable. But, perhaps more memorable and noteworthy is the knowledge on the part of the staff and the advisor that the long road has finally come to an end. Each class, in succession, tries to out do all the yearbooks which have gone before, and the Class of 1973 is no exception. Pride in an accomplishment well done can certainly be yours on Yearbook Day. Pride, too, can be had by the entire Class in the knowledge that your goal of a high school education is almost attained. Commencement — now so near — literally means the beginning. As you begin your new careers — whether in further education, industry or whatever — we hope that you will look back favorably upon your high school days as ones which have been most meaningful and truly educational in all respects. A parting wish: whenever the path seems especially rough, we hope that you will recall the slogan of the optimist: As you ramble on through Life, Brother, Whatever be your goal; Keep your eye upon the doughnut, And not upon the hole! Good luck, God speed, and Goodbye. J. Old friends, old friends, sat on their park bench like bookends. A newspaper blown through the grass falls on the round toes of the high shoes of the old friends. Old friends, winter companions, the old men lost in their overcoats, waiting for the sunset. The sounds of the city, sitting through trees, settle like dust on the shoulders of the old friends Can you ima gine us years from today, sharing a park bench quietly? How terribly strange to be seventy. Old friends, memory brushes the same years. Silently sharing the same fear . . . Paul Simon 87 Football Sitting Left to Right: J. Anderson, D. Jeffries, J.
