Senior Prophecy Before retlrlng to my bed I felt a llttle funny so I took a glass of Alka Selzer doubllng the amount supposed to be taken I thought xt mlght settle my stomach Instead xt put me mto a stupor whlch resulted ln the form of a dream Sleeplly I crawled up the stalrs and retlred mto my lxttle bed to snuggle under my cozy covers and close my sleepy eyes I was soon fast asleep and dreammg I saw the 1956 graduates of Westboro H1gh School ln the year 1976 Flrst I went to a testlng fleld where I saw the streak of lilac pass before my eyes I saw the salute of one of the Westboro graduates who was controlling the magnLf1cent Thunderbxrd My Curloslty overpowermg me I questioned who thls frlendly human belng was 1 went to the head offlce and mqulred how I mlght see thls magmflcent person I walked mto her dressing room she was peellng off her goggles I mtroduced my self then the strange occupatlon was dlscussed Her name was Beverly Edwards and she told me she had another talent whlch was pllotlng Jets I saw Sandra Wlnstead secretly vlsltmg Russla to get lnformatlon about the new dlscovered power by the Russlans, Zerlocus The occupatxon as a spy was one career whlch was very dangerous and the Russlans had no Lntentxon of telllng the secret to Sandra Vlrgll was stlll waltlng for Sandra back at Westboro and everytlme she ventured on a mlsslon he would have a nervous breakdown As much as Sandra loved V1rg1l she couldn t gwe up her Job for her country s sake I turned to gaze at the Atlantic Ocean I saw France and there speaklng French fluently was Anna Brewer She was ln partnershxp wlth the aged Dlor sketchmg patterns for the new 1977 fashlons She had done well flnanclally but matrlmonxally she had falled In my dreams the newspaper The Westboro Tlmes came mto my mlnd I thought of the woman who was to be electrocuted ln a few days Then I remembered the Westboro graduate, Denton Chambers who ran the swltches of the electrlc cha1r From previous reports I knew Denton enjoyed hls work The worst one he had to electrocute was a very dear frxend of his That almost unnerved h1m After that eplsode he requlred psychlatrxc treatment A hurtmg came mto my mouth rt was my achmg tooth whlch Dr Charles Joseph Clement, Dentlst had worked on prevlously Everyone was shocked when Joe de clded on hrs Career but slnce h1s teeth had been glven up he deczded he mzght as well try It hlmself sxnce he couldn t lose anythmg but h1s teeth Incldentally he has all false ones now Into my flzzed mlnd Roberta Bargman appeared Roberta s mlnd was also flzzed and she was undergomg psych1atr1c treatment There were rumors that she had a hot romance goxng on wxth Dr Cut em her doctor Roberta was dolng very well In the busmess world as she was a stockbroker havlng obtamed the posltxon by the easy method marrlage She marrled a rxch stockbroker then dxvorced htm takmg away hrs business I saw someone hzdlng behmd the alley wall I looked and found Jerry Barlow young woman and two small ch1ldren I questloned Jerry and very embarrassed he told me he was marrled and had been for four years He didn t seem to have C I I I I I I . . 0 I . . 4 U , As . . . . enough courage to tell Frexda he was marrled and so everyt1me he saw her commg he would hide And sure enough Frelda just then walked by My ears tuned Into the sound of rnuslc It was a plano but It had a funny sound I looked and saw Carolyn Henn playmg a harpslchord p1ano one that only the best players could have She told me she was openxng at Carnegle Hall and would be jomed by her trumpet playlng husband Larry Swartz 1n a duet Sam McNaughton has become a rlch rancher He stlll llves ID Westboro wlth 5 000 acres of land ten mlles east of town Down deep 1n h1s heart he has a longmg for hzs better half She was kllled ln a Cattle stampede when she fell into the path of the thunderlng herd Roy Stevens I saw as a farmer but Roy has studled S011 conservatlon and agrl culture He has netted lots of money and owns the fxnest farms Roy IS very satls fled wlth hlmself and very happy as a marrxed man Sandra Mather jolned the WAC soon after graduatlon and now has made It her career She IS maklng a blg success and 15 now a Major Before I knew It I was ln the mldst of a polltlcal conventlon and I found Freddy Thacker there He was runnlng for a seat ln the House of Representatlves hasn t become serlous wxth any glrl as yet for h1s only xnterest IS pol1t1cs Next I centered on Darlene Lutz Darlene was dozng very well ln the world After graduatlon she vlslted ln two schools One was for the deaf and the other one was for the underprwlleged chlldren Her heart so filled wlth plty at these IIITIOC ent llttle chlldren that she educated herself for thelr teachmg James Stevens turned to the work of the Lord when he graduated from Westboro He went to the theology school Ln Boston to get h1s tralnlng and after that he held several posltxons but hxs most lmportant one IS actmg as Chaplam of the Unlted States Senate I d1scovered B111 Huston had jolned the Navy and made lt h1s career He was aboard a submarlne for the larger part of h1s duty B1lly won several medals for hls leadershlp and valor and bravery At the present he goes to varlous places to slgn up new recrults Verl Flack was the next subject before I woke up Wlth h1s pen polsed 1n hls hand he was wrxtmg another novel Verl IS really a credit to Westboro as he has won the Pulltzer Prlze three txmes and has won fame the world around The students of Westboro Hlgh are now grudglngly studymg Verl s wrltlngs Hts greatest novel was one ent1tled The Loss of My Flancee whlch tells of how h1s flancee dled before they were marrled Slowly Verl 1s recoverlng from the loss of hrs loved one All at once my dream ended w1th an abrupt halt Scratchlng my head 1n bewllder ment I wondered Lf It really could have been the 1956 graduates from Westboro Hlgh School . . 1 1 - 1 . 1 1 - .
