Sensor Class Hlstow The year 1944 was very excltlng for us for we started on the long road to get our educatmon Those who started were B1lly Huston R1chard Lester Marvm Nocton Ronnle Kretchmer Bllly Harmon James Stevens, Denton Chambers Verl Flack Freddy Thacker Sandra Mather Roberta Bargman, Loulse Peregrme Sandra Wmstead Janet Kmg and George Barnett Mlss Marylea Green had a hard tlme trylng to teach us to count to a hundred and to say our ABC s but by promotwn day we had all accompllshed this In the second grade we started readln rltm and rlthmetzc Opal Barnhart James Dunlap and Anna Brewer Jomed our group We lost f1ve that year R1chard Lester Marvm Nocton Ronnle Kretchmer Freddy Thacker and Janet Klng Mrs Glen Harmon was our teacher We were promoted to the thlrd grade and Mlss Betty Green became our new teacher In the th1rd year we began worklng harder when we added new subjects such as art spellmg and soclal studles Romue DeHart and Jerry Barlow came mto our room durlng the second semester Sam McNaughton came Into our room that year but only stayed one semester along Wlth Hubert Phlpps Bill Harmon left that year We entered the fourth grade and agam Mxss Betty Green greeted us at the door George Kerns J1mm1e MCGIHDIS and Dan Long Jolned our group and we all entered the frfth grade Mrs Kellm became our new teacher and after havmg Mlss Green for two years we were glad to see a new face although for a wh1le we mlssed our old teacher Sandra Wlnstead left us thls year and Freddy Thacker returned durmg the year and contmued wzth us mto the slxth year Mrs Kellm agaln met us at the door and Sandra Wmstead rejomed our class Carolyn Henn began her slxth grade w1th us after golng to varlous schools through out the country This year was a peaceful one we were all growlng up and we were begmnmg to act lxke ladles and gentlemen at least part of the tlme We were promoted to the seventh grade and were met at the door by a man teacher Leslle Hurst We were all expected to have a rougher tlme of It that year but after a few weeks we began to enjoy havmg a man teacher We were promoted Lnto the elghth grade and Allen Harms became our new teacher Anna Brewer left our happy group that year and Darlene Lutz joined us We all worked hard that year on the Constltutmon so that we could graduate wlth a dlploma 1n our hand wh1ch we all accompl1shed Every Freshman year there 1S an 1n1t1at1on and we weren t an exceptlon Joe Clement Beverly Edwards Helen Harb1son Roy Stevens and Sandra Mather Jomed our class of green Freshmen that year James Dunlap spent a few weeks w1th us but left agaxn before very long The Freshman year was somethlng new to us for m stead of one teacher we had several and we moved from one room to another for classes I I . . , . . : . 1 .
