The Department of Public Instruction honored WYHS in selecting West York High School to be one of the three schools to find a school who would exchange a teacher and four students dur- ing Pennsylvania Week: October 13-19, 1952. Seamen Connie Flohr, Henry VVildasin, Larry Spence, and David Coodling and Chief Petty Officer Anna L. Orner exchanged positions with Mr. Lawrence Imboden and four Schuylkill Haven students. As the experiment proved most successful, additional schools will participate next year. Top Left: Mr. Fisher and his aides tend the wounds of a make-believe casualty during the Civil Defense drill. Top Right: Parents and friends bid goodbye to the Exchange Students and Miss Omer departing for Schuylkill Haven, where they stayed during the Pennsylvania Week observance. Bottom Left: Casting ballots at the straw election held by Student Council. 5 I lf!! XX
