ORGANIZATIONS v y he Agricultural Club sponsors departmental organizations such as the Mountaineer Poultry Club and the Mountaineer Collegiate Chapter of Future Farmers of America. The zenith of the club ' s activities is the Ag Costume Dance, which is looked forward to by all uni- versity students. ORGANIZATIONS yj , ' ny one of the hundreds of agricultural stu- dents may become a member of the Agricultural Club upon the payment of annual dues. This club, potentially, is one of the largest organizations on the campus. Al- though organized primarily to promote social activities and entertainment for the members, the club also under- takes activities v hich are of educational value. The first Mountaineer Egg and Baby Chick show, which is now an annual event, was sponsored by the club. Each year plant and seed diseases Qve identified at a judging contest; and apples, potatoes, hogs, horses, dairy cattle, beef cattle, sheep, and poultry are placed. AGRICULTURAL CLU [16]

The local chapter, Lambda, was established in 1923. Phi U has for its purposes the strengthening of the bonds of friendship; the promoting of the moral and intellectual development of its members; the advancing and promot- ing of home economics.
