WDU Id not be bECDming to affable Charles Lawall to offer loud and flowery praises of him, even though he may deserve it. This mild-mannered, soft-spoken gentleman has proved his worth to the State and West Virginians have taken him in and aim to keep him. President Lawall refused a formal inauguration after his eleva- tion to the presidency because he feh he knew the people of West Virginia and that they knew him. This is typical of this easy-going, versatile, judicious, and scrupulously fair person. And it is to Presi- dent Charles Elmer LawaH we dedicate the 194D Monticola. 1 J 1 yr ' I ■■ ' -» r%
