. nl' i, - - - W LL2LK,gL fi vu: ,, The Ram Cagers began their season with a series of wins and losses which would give the best of odds-makers problems. Early into league play the Rams were able to pull together for impressive wins over league leaders Sunnyside and Wapato, and went on to win 5 of their next 6 games before suffering a heartbreaking defeat at the hands of the Wapato Wolfpack before an over capacity home town crowd. The Rams recovered to win 3 of their last 4 league games, securing a berth for the District Tournament. The Ellensburg Bulldogs proved too tough for the Rams and the season was ended the first night of play. Impressive individual performances were made during the season by Steve West who averaged 19 points a game with a shooting percentage of 49fZJ, and was selected to the All Mid-Valley Team, the only Junior to do so. Captain Mike McKinney was also selected to the All Mid-Valley 2nd team, leading the Rams in rebounds 18.8 per gamel and was second in shooting percentage with 4815. 77

WRESTLING Our wrestlers had their hands full with the competition placed before them in the Mid Valley League. They were forced to forfeit six to twelve points each match which didn't help their totals: In spite of being short handed they still won matches against Hanford, Royal, and Eastmont. Out of 15 times on the mat, Joe Headley won 10, lost 3, and tied 2. Sid Carlson and Kelt Morton both won eleven of their fifteen matches. X 79
