EDITOR Nancy Manning The West Valley Rams Tales is a bi- monthly publication of the journalism class. The paper is written, edited and dis- tributed by the students themselves. School news is thoroughly covered in each edition of the paper consisting of edi- torials, school activities, gossip, sports, and public opinion polls. Because this was the beginning of a paper at West Valley, the staff had many precedents to set. The name was selected after being voted on by the students, the staff was elected to fill the major positions on the paper, and the number of publications was decided upon. The paper staff did a fine job under the auspices of Miss Martin. President Salli Bierman Tapping for Honor Society was held in March. The ceremony was a bit unusual, for the verses revealing the names of the new members were read over the inter-com and those tapped were taken to the office to repeat the oath of membership. Solemn- ly these honored students promised to up- hold the purposes of the society and to strive to make its ideals the ideals of the school. l'lRST ROW, left lu right Mrs Llsk, advisor, Lester Jones, Janet Ferguson, Nancy Man- ning farol Brownell Vivian Lange, ,Io Anne Parks Karen Griffith, Janet Yergen, Nancy Woodm jo Ann Walker, Marcia Brown, Barbara Gerwig, Eugene Fairchild, Mrs. Dowd, advisor QECOND ROW, left to right Ken Bryant Dave Ekland, Shirley Gardner, Gerald f erhardt Dean Hallauer Fred Houck George Velikanje, Mary jo McDevitt, Mike Paradis. iv if .K-22395125 l?
