enior The unbending efforts of countless teachers, the love and understanding of faithful parents and the facilities of many schools have been the necessary constituents in the making of this, the first graduating class of West Valley High School. The class of 56', is deeply grateful and indebted to the people that have made the attainment of this milestone possible. We are proud and honored to be the first graduates from this new school. and we hope that the examples we set can be respectfully followed in the years to come. ln the process of building and establishing our new school, many decisions had to be made and traditions set. There was an abundance of hurdles to cross, but we feel we did our part and are proud of the job we did. But overlooking the minor problems we faced, we happily recall the gayer moments. lndelibly imprinted in our minds are the memories of the many activities that we so genuinely looked forward to, and so thoroughly enjoyed. Mistletoe Fantasyv will be remembered by all as the theme of our thrilling Christmas ball. Chuck Toop and Salli Bierman mounted the sparkling antiquated cutter, drawn by a mystically beau- tiful reindeer, to reign as King and Queen of the ball. Ever level and ever true to the toil and the task we have to dog Seated : Salli Bierman, Treasurer janet Ferguson, President Cary Smith, Vice President Nancy Manning, Secretary Standing: Larry Walker and Carol Schonewill, U f Activity Managers ' Les Lennington, Parllamenlarlan Mrs Doris I :sk Advisor Good drama was displayed in the Senior class play entitled 'The Little Minister. A double cast of over thirty was used to make the play a fine success. Another highlight of the year was the Junior-Senior prom. The Juniors were fine hosts and made it an occasion that will not soon be forgotten. Finally came the day we had been striv- ing for and yet dreading. Graduation time had arrived. Announcements were sent, caps and gowns donned and tassels meticulously put in place. The march started and soon each ld in his hand a diploma, the symbol of ac- omplishment. ln years to come, when we hear the famil- iar refrains of Buckle Down Vllest Valley and see the fighting llams engaged in royal battle. we will surely remember West Valley High School and recall all the memorable oc- casions when we wore the beautiful blue and red.
