Mrs. Betty ,lo Doud Physical Education y Facult The facu ty of West Valley High School was a wonderful group f teachers who succeeded in teaching us much in spite of many ob- acles in the form of inadequate facilities, interruptions during classes by workmen, and unwilling pupils. We are truly thankful for their patience and wisdom in handling us and hope that in some ay we have increased their satisfaction and enjoyment of teaching. As we come to the endof the year, we suddenly realize and begin to appreciate the effect of their efforts on our lives. Some of us will be carrying out into the world experiences and wisdom obtained and Art I II here. Oiiicers and Council The student council had a wonderful opportunity to begin an active stu- dent government at the new West Valley lligh. ASB. President Mike Paradis proved to he a very able organizer and conducted the meetings in such a way that the husiness was acted upon swiftly, and without confusion. One of the accomplishments of the council was learning and practicing the rules of parliamentary procedure. The Student Council was responsible for deciding many of the rules and regulations of the school and supervised the voting on school colors. school song, etc. They also approved all the school dances and parties. Most of the business and problems of West Valley passed through the Student Council and each representative was responsible for carrying back important news to his home room so that everyone in the school would be informed on what the council was doing and could therefore take a more active interest and participation in student government. or only what is strong and good . . .
