The delicate beauty of a simple Christmas tree bulb sets off the holiday atmosphere. As Christmas vacation approached, o wave of activity surged through West Valley. Each day of the last weels brought new happenings. Monday was red nose day, Tuesday was inanimate object day, Wednesday was jingle bells day, Thursday was red and green day, and Friday was tourist day. lt was not uncommon to hear the sparlsling sound of dozens of bells or see someone dressed in shorts and sunglasses in the halls. The commons was decorated by Student Council, including a large tree. Candy canes and candy Isisses were delivered by various groups on Thursday morning. NHS held a tea for faculty and staff members in the library featuring the Madrigal singers and the Orchestra. The halls were decorated by various clubs with Thespians winning for best decorated hall, Friday, which brought dozens of slsimpily clad tourists hunting for the beach, also brought an ineschaol dance and a Christmas production by the Thespians. After the last bell rang and the last bus left the parlsing lot, West Valley settled down for a long winter's nap and West students anticipated a relaxing vacation.
