IN THE F MILY There is a group of elected srudenrs rhat malse up rhe West Valley student council. lt is rhis organization and rhe people in it who are responsible for many of rhe acriviries that ga on ar the school. The siudenr council organizes dances, pep rallies, car washes, hall decorarions, and a variety of holiday happenings. Lilse the rest of rhe school, srudeni' council is the best it has been in a long rime, Wirh several members travelling ro national and stare worlsshops, rhe group has gained valuable experience and insight of the way other schools run their srudenr councils. There were also many topenotch ideas rhar were piclsed up and braughr bacls ro use ar West, These new ideas, added to Wests already superb ones, helped raise rhe schools high srandards, Wirh the help and encouragemeni of srudent council members, spirir was slay-roclsering. With this tremendous swelling in spirir also came an escalarion in srudenr pride and participation. A maior factor in the progression of the school was Mrs, Green, the srudenr council advisor. She was an added influence to the srudenrs and an imporrant person in the organization.
