Live from the Travelers lnn, it's the Senior Ball! The theme of Only Yesterday prevailed over all while Ron Lewis spun the discs for couples in a romantic medieval atmosphere. Surrounded by castles and dragons, the knights of West Valley proved that chivalry was not yet dead as they swept beautiful damsels off their feet, The thoroughly enjoyable evening reached a climax as the royalty was announced. The crowd was jubilant as Paul Milan and Linda Winters were crowned King and Oueen of the 1980 Senior Ball. The evening concluded with couples swaying to the last slow dance with romance on their minds and stars in their eyes Despite the 510F temperature the evening was a tremendous success and a night for all to remember. Valenrine's Day broughr sunshine inro the hearrs of many, as warm-hearted srudenrs sent flowers, cards, cool-ties, lollipops, and candy lsisses ro friends and loved ones. The Valentines Dance attracted the romanrics and dreamers of West, and amidst cupids and sweerhearrs Dave Schram and Heidi lsoerfer were proclaimed l-Qing and Queen of Hearts, As winrer neared ir's end rhaughrs of leadership and school spirir filled rhe hearts of many as inspiring spealser Mrs Phil dazzled students and faculty alilse with his rhoughrfprovolsing speeches. Soon afrer Mr. Phil's assembly laughter could be heard radiating from rhe Wesr Valley gym, where Spirit Calse assembly was being held, Mr. Rogers received a proper iniriarion while eggs, syrup, peanur burrer, and whipped cream were cheerfully disrribured throughout his hair and on the heads of orhers, each head represenring a West sporr. Mrs. Heimer's sewing class revealed rheir superb ralenrs by purting on a fashion show. The srudenrs modeled stunning outfits made by none other than themselves As winrer came to a close and spring approached srudenrs could lools bacls with a feeling of warmrh and nosralgia, rhen plunge inro spring with optimism and confidence.
