Spirit Leaders Back The Pack Weekly bake sales, button sales, spirit boosting at pep assemblies, and cheering at almost all sports events managed to keep the six Varsity cheerleaders busy! They raised money to travel to Anchorage with the boys and girls basketball teams, and also boosted Wolfpack mo- rale by going to Delta, Eielson and North Pole. Under the leadership of advisor Diadre Dalrymple, and Cap- tain Bridget Baker, these girls showed a great amount of enthusiasm and winning spirit for West Valley. On call cheerleaders spur the team to better efforts. West Valley spirit reached skyhigh Bridget Baker, Lynda Foster, Julie Burud, Cindy Hawkins, Miki Piza, Kris Washeleski. They were the Spirit Freaks ofcourse! The purpose of the club, as Advisor Mrs. Diadre Dalrymple stated, was to support the cheerleaders, and get rowdy! Spirit Freak President Melinda Howard headed the 45 members as they screamed and cheered through West Valley basketball, football, and hockey games.
