The classroom scene at West varies from guitar les- sons to Advanced Placement Chemistry, and a student's day can be highlighted with a variety of special events. Guest speakers, field trips, concerts and plays are just a few of the many additional educational pastimes offered to West students throughout the year. Students also have the option of becoming involved in special programs outside of school. The ideal loca- tion of West Valley provides for easy access to Hut- chinson Career Center, the University of Alaska, and University Park Elementary school. Students can en- roll in 3 hour vocational classes at the Career Centerg classes can utilize athletic and library facilities at the Universityg and the Introduction to Teaching program is active at University Park. It is this diversified curriculum bestowed upon each student at West Valley, that enables him to set goals to strive for, while growing in individuality.
