Kangaroo Kid He's an Aussie 8: he's proud! Geoff finds A P Biology fascinating. Hi: I'm Geoff Thomas from Nhill, Australia, and was lucky to be part of the student body at West Valley first semester. I was part of the Rotary Exchange program which is designed to promote friend- ship and goodwill between the countries of the world. I must say that being at West Valley and Fairbanks in general has been an experience I will treasure the rest of my life. Your school system does not give you as great an opportunity to learn as oursg but, you make up for it by the extra activities and school spirit. I really can't see the students of West Valley dressed alike in uniformsg it would crush your individuality! Football is one experience that will stay with me, along with the cheerleaders and pep assemblies. Your school lives over here are so much more fun. Take advantage of it! Best of luck in the future. Geoff Thomas

Poetr From he ast Hod Putt, tRocky Shippeyj bemoans his corrupted past life in the Spoon River Valley. Four ladies, Susan Schwartz, Dotti Johnson, Lisa La Chance, and Sandy Flodin relate life experiences. A cemetery in the auditorium? A strange and un- natural occurence. Not as strange and unnatural, how- ever, as spirits rising from their graves to haunt the living with their stories. As eerie as it sounds, this is exactly what happened when Edgar Lee Master's Spoon River Anthology was performed for the Eng- lish Department classes. With Mr. Gene DeWild directing, the Drama l class Justice Anett, tWes Owensj preaches to the audience. Application of Make-up doesn't disturb Morgan Nocckcr. rose to success with its two performances. The play required almost the entire class as cast, the exceptions being David Thurman and David Smith on lights and Mala Strohmaier, Carleen Lagasse, and Mark Ward on make-up. The entire class assisted in the construction of the sets, and the ghostly trees and tombstones added to the supernatural atmosphere on stage. .e . J' H 0 f
