Sporting events, ice skating, and cross-country skiing are among many enjoyed ac- tivities. Extremely partial to Porsches, Mrs. Marcia Burn- dide magnanimously allows her family an occasional ride. Mrs. Burnside, Debate and Blizzard,, boss, con- stantly developes her talents in color photography. A cultivator of friends and plants, is Ms. Madge Clark. Though interested in literature and parties, Ms. Clark dreams of becoming a veterinarian. After entertaining students with his pun-filled quips, Mr. Charles M. Thomas merely ignores the groans. He unwinds while camping, fishing, flying, and hunt- mg. I hate to digress, howeverf' begins another lenghy anecdote of Mrs. Francine Mears, National Chairman for the annual Toad of the Year Award . Bogart fanatic, Mrs. Mears loves German Chocolate cake, her students, and the Human Race. To eschew obfuscation requires much of Ms. Kathy Webb's time. Attendance clerk, Mrs. Jana Hyatt, claims her fa- vorite subject area is the spirit and enthusiasm of West Valley that is displayed in all areas! A true lover of the outdoors is Mrs. Marcia Snyder. Her job at West Valley is secretary to Mr. Klepperg but out of school, fishing, camping, and hunting rate high among her list of interests. How does an avocado, bean sprout, onion and egg sandwich on rye bread sound? To Mrs. Nell Garvey, the Attendance Secretary, it's the next best thing to cherry chocolates! The lady in charge of making sure all the student records are accurately up to date is Ms. Alma Pratt. She is a doughnut lover, and enjoys people, the out- doors, and the arts. While primarily concerned with the theatre, Mr. DeWild does squeeze bowling into his tight schedule. Composition and literature teacher, Mr. Evan Keil, acts as an assistant to the Debate team. Though inclined to world travel, Miss Sandra Os- borne has always desired to teach high school. A mem- ber of the Fairbanks Light Opera Theatre, she helps advise the Junior Class. As well as captivating her students, Ms. Sally Alli- son coordinates the National Honor Society. Ms. Alli- son particularly enjoys American Government. Supporting and instructing the Yearbook staff, Mrs. Barbara Philleo finds little time to cook, read, or go camping. She would like to develop skills in crocheting, but her hours are usually filled. Reading and traveling number among Mrs. June E. Thayer's many interests. Mrs. Thayer's quilt, a chal- lenging project, is somewhat closer to completion than it was last year.
