The Varsity Boys Basketoall Team has undergone some major changes this past year. Such as school boundary changes which forced a couple of players to go to Lathrop, while the event of the age old ritual of graduation created the loss of a few more varsity players . This combined with many new and younger faces on the team, may be the reason behind the average win record . Working hard is the thing to do on this team. Working hard on running, shooting, passing, dribbling, etc. .. Out there in the front instructing them was coach Ted DeLeon, who was not by any means a push over, but a hard working coach . Two other members of the team in the background were managers, Sui Brown and Porcia Fenton, who taped the games as well as kept score. lt was all worth it in the end, though, when the lVlale- mutts were put in the doghouse on January 28th . Junior Varsity--One More Step The J .V. Basketball Team this year was a very devoted team. IVlany of the players began on the freshman-sophomore team and a couple were elevated to the Varsity team, a few even played both J .V. and Varsity ball. Whatever team they played on they showed effort and teamwork. When they played J .V. with Al Shoats as coach they showed a desire to win and did just that. R P s s NN ws has Q 5. , .
