Rhonda was crying, David was fretting and everyone was IIVIPRESSED . The West Aurora is obvi- ously a great success . The staff unrolled a tremendous ad campaign with the soapy of Rhonda and David and the IIVIPRESS YOURSELF slogan which eventually led to I'lVI IIVIPRESS ED iron-ons. The group was unbelievably lucky at this sales pitch and the student body and all year- book buyers responded extreme ly favorably . By the end of the first yearbook sale, over 600 books had been sold--- a fantastic record which total- ly outdid that of the '75-'76 school term. Last year the West Aurora placed 2nd in the National Columbia S .P.A. contest, this year led by Kristi Smith and Ann DeVries, the staff conceived a book of true Qual- ity and delight that is worth a first place at least!! Advisor, Barb Philleo was exceedingly pleased with the staff and the end result. Aren't we all! ! ?!! Congrats are in order for this team of people who dili- gently and devotedly worked the hours away, wore their l'IVI llVIPRESSED T-shirts, and came to class EVERYDAY! l '--., lil, ff, FA ' it' f

VERS This year the Fairbanks chapter ofthe Junior Classical League has two consuls Ceduivalent to two presidents? from Lathrop, but the membership is still mainly composed of West Valley Latintakers. This is the only chapter in the state of Alaska, but there is a possibility of one evolving in Anchorage soon. JCL, which sponsors such events as the Saturnalia, com- parable to Christmas festivities, Winter Olympics, a huge Spring Banquet, and a pizza bash, is under the direction of Pauline Chamness . Another yearly event for these Latin enthusiasts is the National Convention It was held in New York last year, and Sue Brown and Porcia Fenton were able to attend with IVIs. Chamness The 1977 Convention will be held in Florida this summer, and the club has been busy earning pecunia for the trip, though most of the tab is picked up by the lucky individuals who choose to go. Bona fortuna eis! C. . .good luck to them! ll Pixie Javelin-throw?!! 1
