February 8, 1957 and You Were There. If your parents' old clothes have been packed away all these years, Tuesday, February 8 would have been the day to drag out the boxes and put them to use . Greasy hair, leather jackets, red lips, and bobby socks were not an unusual sight! For those of you who missed Fifties Day, it was a big success! After Paul Brown and Lynda Foster's costumes were chosen as the best, student council sponsored an in-school dance and dance contest. Fifties and seventies music were divided up equally, with Porcia Fenton and Ray Wheat carrying off the honor of best dancers . It was a day that not too many will for- get, and will look forward to it again next year! O .. X Q XX ,N up ff' x I AABOVE, Tark twists the night away at the hop. Z

N 1 West Has Spirit in '77! Spirit '77 was definitely the topic at the pep assembly on February lst. All the athletic teams were introduced and such spe- cialties as Coach DeLeon, a la cake mix, or a delicacy of lVlr. Schellinger, topped with eggs and flour were a sight to see . Hockey coach, IVlarlo IVlilIer, had an added touch as the hockey players chipped in the funds to provide a few extra additives and preservatives. In addition to all of this battering, there were two tug- of-wars, the cheerleaders out-tugged the matmaids, as did the football players in their tug against the wrestlers . The pep assembly proved to be a success and it be- came evident that West Valle Hi h Schoolers are f I , , ' . we s N y g u I of spirit and pep! Do you think anyone will recognize us in these disguises'? BELOW, the Wrestlers lose to the Football team in a tug-of-war. Ellen Evans cheers for the Class of 79 A4 ,r fs 544 Z.
