Concentration is LEFT To RIGHT: Drake Selmer, Roger Livingston, Doug Vanderbilt, Diane Caldwell. LEFT TO RIGHT: Drake Selmer, David Lindemann, Coach Napollili, Lance Gilmer, Monty Smith. The West Valley Rifle Team is made-up of some SUPER SHOOTERS! Last year the team took first place in the nation in the conventional competition. ln addition to this tremendous title, the group was able to steal the nation's second place po- sition in the international target competition. The 1976-77 team is supposed to be a new and fresh team with only a few returning lettermen. Although the new team lacked experience they showed great flare in their shooting this past year. Though they were destined to find practice sites in a variety of areas the group rolled in the winning points . As the gym reached completion, so did the rifle range and it too was com- pleted: thus, the team is now on their own ground and bound to master any other opponents---ONVVARD TO GLORY THEY GO

Jim Dalley, Coach Marianne Carlson, Dan Holmgren, 'E With their Olympic choice coach, Marianne Carlson, West ValIey's ski team began to show potential it had never shown before. The team, a little on the young and inexperienced side of the trail, proved to be hard working and willing to put out all the energies available to make West's Cross Coun- tiy Ski Team as fine as humanly possible. With the past warm winter, skiing was great--that is, when there was snow to be found . The team, although it got off to a late start, will definitely be tops by the end of the season, and the 1977-78 season ought to be fantastic for those individuals who, after a lengthy day at school, attack some 15 miles on those dependable skis .
