DRAMA AT WEST TECH BACK ROW: Bob Lipke. George Krejci, Bob Odon. FRONT ROW; Pat Van Dyke, Judic Fuchalo. The Thespians is an honorary club of West Tech. By helping in the production of any play (acting, costume design, lighting, make-up, etc.) each student receives a certain number of points and as these accumulate to the required number, the student is accepted into the club. Mr. Klosek Play Director Mrs. Krejci Musical Director Miss Gould Dance Director THE FIREMAN'S FLAME The Senior Musical presented this year by the senior class was entitled THE FIREMAN’S FLAME. Many hours of hard labor were put into this play by the four senior stars—Elaine Rosin, Lynn Oisbennet, Diane Messina and Bob Tousel. along with the many underclassmen who dedicated their time to make the production possible. STORY OF THE PLAY Harry Howard, a noble young man, joins the Blue Bird Hose Boys, a democratic branch of tho fire department. Their bitter rivals are the aristocratic Red Hearts, led by the snobbish and villainous Napoleon Markham. Harry and Daphne Vanderpool, foster daughter of Adolphus Vanderpool, the Fox of Wall Street, become enamoured with each other. Markham, who is a treacherous partner of the old Fox. schemes to win her hand. He is aided and abetted by Vesta Violet, a fascinating siren. The scoundrelly Markham tries his wilos and on being thwarted he sets fire to the Vanderpool mansion while the occupants are asleep. Harry and his Blue Birds arrive in time to save his love and her foster parent and through a locket which Harry's mother gave him, he turns out to be Mr. Vandcrpool’s long lost son. Wc will all remember the great success that the play was and the pride that was justly felt by all who helped produce it.
