Miss Nader was born in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended John Adams High School, where she was active in many clubs and worked on the school newspaper. She was the first in her school to be a member of the National Honor Society. Miss Nader had decided to become a lawyer and teacher in the third grade. She began to work toward the fulfillment of her ambition by attending Flora Stone Mather College at Western Reserve University. There she received her degrees in political science. She continued her education by enrolling at Kent State University, where she worked for her Master’s degree in education. Later she attended night school for four years at the Cleveland Marshall Law School in order to receive her law degree. Miss Nader first taught physical education and fencing at Western Reserve University. She came to West Tech as an American History teacher in September, 1954. Previously she had taught at Brownell Junior High School. In 1956 Miss Nader began to teach commercial law in addition to American History. She was also a guidance counselor from I960 to 1962. Mr. Goodman, chairman of the social studies department at West Tech, had this to say about Miss Nader: ā€œMiss Nader is a master teacher. Like every master teacher at West Tech, she is dedicated wholeheartedly to serving her pupils and the school. She is a great asset to the social studies department. Miss Nader's determination and willingness to assist and guide the students at West Tech has won her the admiration of all the graduating seniors. Dedicating this yearbook to her is only a small way in which the students want to express their appreciation for all the memorable moments that she has passed on to them. We wish her a successful future and continual happiness. n DR. WILLIAM P. HOFFMAN Principal Dr. William P. Hoffman was born in Cleveland and is a graduate of West Tech. I will always remember the once-in-a-lifetime 50th Anniversary celebra tion and the memorable senior plays. The cheering of spectators at Tech's football and basketball games will also remain in my memory. Along with these I could never forget the G.O. dances. Harbor Inns, noon movies, or dancing in the rec room. Never again, as a student of West Tech, will I walk down the halls or read the bulletin boards. These many activities are all a thing of the past. There are many people that I will never see again, including the teachers who have given me the important gift of knowledge, and my friends who have shared with me the excitement and fun of the past three years. As I leave West Tech, a new world will be waiting for me, a world filled with success and failure, hope and expectations. But I will be better prepared for this world because of my days at West Tech. A Senior MOST LIKELY TO SUCCEED Kathy Kovach Kathy Kovach is a talented, friendly person. It is no surprise that she has been able to fill a variety of positions that take skill and personality. She played an important role when she served on the Tatler for three years. Kathy worked first as a reporter and later as junior and senior page-three editor. Kathy was an active member of the Literary Magazine committee and the Study Hall committee. She has also participated in girls intramurals. In the past Kathy has won the German Cup and the Journalism Pin. She has also taken part in the P.S.S.C. physics and bookkeeping assemblies. In spite of her extra-curricular activities, she has maintained an honor roll average every semester and has had five semesters of perfect attendance. Now in her senior year, Kathy has been voted by her classmates as the Girl Most Likely to Succeed. Whatever the future may hold for Kathy, her charm and individuality will make her welcome in any group. Vitality, ability, and friendliness have all contributed to Jim Wilson's success. His classmates have chosen him as the Boy Most Likely to Succeed. Jim served as captain of the varsity baseball team and has been a member of the junior varsity and varsity football teams. He has also had the honor of serving as president of the G.O. Jim was chairman of the G.O. Membership and Assembly committees. He was active in the Social, Standards, Literary Magazine, Public Relations, and Ways and Means committees. For two years he helped inform students of current sports events by serving as a sports columnist on the Tatler. Although all these extra-curricular activities have kept Jim busy, he has maintained a high scholastic record. For six semesters he has been on the Honor Roll and has maintained perfect attendance. His sincere and pleasing personality will, no doubt, accompany him in a successful career. KLUGE. LINDA BEATLEMANIA STRIKES! In January, 1964, BEATLEMANIA struck our Nation. Paul. John. Ringo, and George a popular, talented young group from England with the brightest outlook on life, give a great example of how to succeed from a poor environment to a rich, rewarding profession while also giving pleasure and enjoyment to all. Bigger than a convention of U.N. leaders, the excitement aroused was of mixed controversy among the teenage and older generation. Many in West Tech were among their fans, at least the girls were, but none can deny that the BEATLES were a crucial part of our Senior year and though wo loavo a littlo more mature, we remember these little things which made our days so very much more enjoyable and humorous. ROBERT ZAJACZKOWSKI, DENNIS Alma Mater Dear old West Tech, we'll always love you, Sure as the stars do shine above you! Always loyal and always true, We love you more every day. Down through the years we'll all be yearning To these dear old halls to be returning. Dear old West Tech, we're all for you, For the Crimson and Gray! Class Motto We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. Class Colors Emerald Green and Ivory Our Final Destination As we close this yearbook, we are closing a highly significant chapter in our lives. The long hours of study, the tense anticipation of a test, the many times, good and bad, we all have shared at West Tech, have all become memories. And now it is time for our last goodbye to all our friends and we ask ourselves: What's ahead? But we shall never ask ourselves, Was it worth it? Autographs
