AFODEWORD Now that the world is embraced in peace once more, grad- uation again takes on the aspect of a step from the state of preparation to the state of practical application. For twelve long years we have studied and have tried to grasp not merely facts and figures, but a broader concept of educa- tion based on the ideals of cooperation and competition. Upon this graduating class and hundreds of others from high schools throughout the United States the task of shaping our country's future will fall. lf these many institutions of learning produce classes which match the standard which we believe the june l946 Class of West Technical High School sets, we feel that the job of build- ing a new world based on the foundation of a lasting peace will be undertaken in a realistic and efficient manner. 2

World War Il is over, but our world is still in a very unstable condi- tion. The young people graduating from the high schools this year are going to be confronted with many serious problems, and are going to be called upon to perform many important tasks. I am sure there are a number ot potential leaders in your fine class, and opportunity will be forthcoming for each of you to exercise all the inherent and acquired powers he may possess in order that this world may be a better place in which to live.
