'-I3FlOl3l-JECY Dear Ar Howland I was strolling through Erie the other day when I came across this sign u we eveafeel Cone QM See The Swarm Shecemmah Semacluah Skelemak S tfk Having nothing to lose, I went in I then entered a room with a def inite Oriental atmosphere I heard a mysterious voice tell me to be seated and seeing no chairs, I sat on the floor In floated a crye tal ball apparently, suspended in mid air I hadn't any more than started to stare into that inverted fish bowl when I found myself walking out through the door saying he was a faker In a matter of Jlshing to get that Swami off my mind, I went into the church near there Iuch to my amazement, the preacher bore a resemblance to Jack Augustine who had started out in nYouth For Christ' work when he was young It was now interplanetary through Auggie's efforts The music was as stirring as the sermon It wasn't until later that I re alized the pianist was Rachel Wheeler I shook hands with Jack and Rachel at the door and wished them luck as I went on my way hadn't anymore than stepped through the door when a grotesque figure just about ran over me I looked up to see what had hit me, and I finally came to the conclusion that it was a new space suit W must have recognized each other at the same time because as I tried to find a way to get high enough to talk to him he started to climb out Out stepped Jim Barlow who was a tester for these large space suits He told me he got tired of looking up at people and decided to look down for awhile Jim gave me his collapsible atomic plane which he always carried in his pocket I flew around for awhile and finally ran out of atoms Luckily I was in front of an atomic service station I told them to fill up my capsule and then I realized the attendant was Dick Baxter I asked why he was still an attendant, and he said he was the owner of a line of atomic service stations He was just breaking in a new man Not wanting to interfere, I went on my way I hadn't gone far before I had an unusual sensation Hunger!!! I stopped at the first restaurant I saw The sign said 'Rae and Mech's Home Cooked Meals I was ushered in with the greatest court esy to a reserved table I was the l,OO0,000,000th customer and was to dine like a king with the managers Their nagps sounded familiar and I can't say I was too surprised when they tqnned out to be Rae Seeley and Mech Grubke The food was the best I had eaten in ages I asked where they had acquired such good cooks' Instead of answering , they led me to the kitchen I almost fell over when I saw Martha Morrow and Elaine Brockett I inquired where they learned to cook like my Mother used to cook back in the l95O's They said Polly Ruland had the only cooking school in the universe that taught the old style of cooking They told me I should go over and see Polly's all girl basketball team composed of her own daughters and coached by her husband. I said I'd try and bade them good bye. For some relaxation I went to an old time movie. The title of the show was nThe Greatest Comedy Team of a Century.n And who should be the stars of the show but Doug Wheeler and Luard Burge. I never laughed so hard as I did at those two. At least I thought so until I 9' W . , : frtzost - twenty, mlnutes after stepping into my space ship,.I was on the Moon. - I . I . . L n . - . . e In. .. . ..' -
