A Time For Us On April 28, 1973 the WestNTSnyder gym was alive with the sounds of the Juniors Senior prom. The June ior class, under the capable leadership of Max Lash, began decor- ations about a month before the prom. Since the class didn't like the idea of purchasing a ready-made kit for the theme, they decidq ed to start from scratch to create an enchanting picture of the city of Verona. The theme was NA Time ,for Usn, with the city to be cont. next col. of Verona and the Shakespearian setting being the main attrac- tion. John Snyder, chairman of decor- ations, was aided by fMr. Shellenberger in drawing up plans for the gym. A new development took place at the prom last year. The court iwas. as usual, select- ed by the Juniors and Seniors, but only those who attended the prom voted for king and Queen. Teresa Bubb and Dale Wright were crowned queen and king by 1971's queen, Joni Bishop. The court consisted of Jayni Bishop, Brenda Norman, Bonnie Hacken- berg, Deb Bingaman, Jerre Aumiller, lDan Knepp, Mark Swanson, John Snyder and Peter Aggravated Agnes It'g Saturday night and Beaver Fair time has cone and 809'- was out of her hair and off her clothes, it was dlshwashing time again. Easy, they were waiting for their buses to carry them off on another fascinating class trip Their destination was Washington, D. C. First stop for the class was the Cap- itol. Next came the White House and then in succession came the National Archives, the F.B.I., and the Smith- sonian Institute. The day was GQPPSQ oy the viewing of the musicaL HGodspellN, at Ford's Theatre. Finally, a group of weary Seniors boarded the buses and started the long trek home. Earlier that morning at precisely 9500 AM, she had work- ed laboriously to re- move a blockade of dishes from the door- way in order to enter the stand. Agnes finished the chore only minutes before noon rush or Htrgctop pullersn came. Grab- bing a tablet and pen, she dashed out to the tables greeting peo- ple with a smile and dishpan hands. The first pert of the lunch period had gone reasonably well and she was deliver- ing a large tray of food to the principal and his wife. Unfort- unately, a little boy put his foot out in front of her and Aggie went for an unexpected trip, which ended on the principal's lap. to be cont. next col. ,b9C0ndB out later, a very drench- ed class advisor or- iered Aggie to 'rying hamburgers a change of pace! Aggie was frying br gers to beat the b ld and decided to turn up the burner to speed up production. She got more heat than she expected when the stove caught on fire. Agnes, in a futal at- tempt to make things right, used the fire extinguisher to outen the flame and -also coat the kitchen with white dust! For some reason or another, all the Seniors have left the stand and a terribly aggravated Agnes sits among the mess, pon- dering over the situ- ation. Stertled by footsteps, she looked up into the face of an unknown Junior who said those famous words---'Wanna buy a hoagie?W WSHS try for
