Basketball STANDING: Alan Peters, Gary Wagner, Tom Soles, Arthur Kline, Joe Shore, Glen Bilger, Eugene Solomon. SITTING: Norman Folk, Edgar Wagner, GaryGreenaway. Varsity The Mounties were about to enter the District 4, Class C playoffs, as this year- book went to press, after one of the most successful and thrilling seasons of Tri- Valley League competition. Coached by Mr. Solomon, the team finished in a tie for third place in the first half of the league, but came back in the second half to tie Chief Logan for the lead. In a very exciting playoff game the Mounties defeated Chief for the second half title, then went on to defeat Kishacoquillas in another playoff game, to win the league championship. The over-all record was l9-5 as the team entered the playoffs, hoping to win as many honors as possible. Seniors who will be lost through graduation are Steve Thornburg and Dennis Baker, co-captains and leading scorers, Gary Greenaway, Alan Yeater, and Jim Walter. DISTRICT CHAMPS: The West Snyder Soccer Team won the Tri-Valley League and also District 4 honors. This was the first team from W,S, to win the District 4 cham- pionship. Graduation will claim ll members This brought the season to a conclusion with 12 wins, 1 tie, and no losses from the team. High scorers of the team were Arthur Kline, Dennis Baker, and Alan Yeater with 12, 11, and 8 goals respectively.
