Mr. Clark Nevin has completed his first year as director of instrumental music in the West Snyder High School. Under his direction the band has continued its excellent record of achievement a.nd has made invaluable contributions to the communities and to the school. Many students in the school system are receiving through instrumental instruction, training for future band membership. Several students from this organization participated in the District Band Festival at Hollidaysburg. The group also presented an assembly program for the entire student body. 94

The crowning of the queen took place after Prince Charming found the girl whose foot fit the glass slipper. JUNIOR HIGH BAND This musical unit is composed of seventh, eighth and ninth grade boys and girls who show an aptitude for and interest in instrumental music. It is in this group that the young instrumentalist learns basic musicianship as well as genuine team- work. Specific prerequisites must be met by those desiring to participate with this organization. 95
