Reporter The National Honor Society of Selinsgrove High School installed the West Snyder Chapter of the National Honor Society inaspecial assembly on November 26, 1959. There were sixteen charter mem- bers, but at semesters four members were dropped, and seven new ones were initiated. All students that have a scholarship average of A or 90 per cent are eligible for membership. A committee of administrators and teachers then considers these students on the basis of service, leader- ship, and character. Through this organization it is hoped to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in students of West Snyder High School. 88

Pat Saylor The Historian Club got off to a flying start under the supervision of Mr. C.W. Wagner. The objectives of the History Club are to develop more of an interest in history and to provide opportunities in history beyond regular class room work. One of the projects undertaken by the club members is that of renovating one of the few remaining one-room school houses in the county and making it into a museum to be used for the benefit of the entire county. Inthis way the Historian Club plans to keep alive the fast fading tradition of its elders. 87
